Ottoman Capitals

Tour unedited around Marmara Sea, this journey will take you the three major capitals of Ottomans across the centuries.

Day 1: – Istanbul
Arrival to Istanbul, transfer to the hotel. Introduction and orientation in the city.

Day 2: Istanbul
Day complete dedicated to the discovery of historical heritage of the city, visit of Sultanahmet in the company of a professional guide. Mosque/Church of Sainte Sophie, constructed in 6th Century –unique architecture and largest in the world, place of hippodrome. Discovery of the famous Blue Mosque. One of the most famous religious monuments in the world.

Visit of « Golden Horn » and the neigbourhood. In the scope of the program, ancient residence of the Sultans « Topkapi Palace ». Collections of Porcelaines Jewelleries. Mosque/Church of Sainte Sophie, constructed in 6th Century –unique architecture and largest in the world, place of hippodrome.

Day 3: Istanbul
In the morning, Visit of “Dolmabahce” Palace. And then the tour at lunch time on the Bosphorus- one of the treasuries of the city of Istanbul. You will have an excellent promenade on the shores of both Asian and European sides, just let your self be mesmerised by the ancient residences of the Ottoman Sultans and high level politicians of Ottoman Empire. These « Yali » mansions will take you to the past glorious times of the Empire.

Day 4: Edirne – Canakkale
Visit dedicated to the discovery of Edirne The second capital city of Ottoman Empire following Bursa. The city marks apotheose Ottoman Art and the talent of Sinan, the architect who built the Mosque of Selimiye –one of his masterpieces. The city it self a very good resume of the evolution of Ottoman Art and Architecture. In the afternoon Departure for Canakkale.

Day 5: Canakkale – Bursa
Start the day with the Museum of Archeology, an excellent memory of the past of Troy. Continue the day in the Military Museum. The Museum will retrace the War of Dardanelles and of course the different times of Galipoli Peninsula in the history. In the afternoon Departure for Bursa.

Day 6: Bursa
Bursa the ancient capital of the Ottoman Sultans. Green city situated on a valley between the sea and the mountain. Known as the fruit garden of the country. Visit of the Grand Green Mosque (Ulu Camii) and then the famous Silk Bazaar. At the end of the day, Return back to Istanbul.

Day 7: Istanbul – Departure
Transfer for the airport. * It is possible to extend your stay one more day with a tour to complete Troy surrounding, Assos and Pergamon.
